In this week, we hit 5 years after the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were set up.
A lot of questions to be answered, and
Progress Assessments to be made.
Via the SDGs, one is able to envisage a possible mellifluous globe for the 7.8 billion inhabitants, and get stirred up to contribute their qouta to their realization.
Global leaders have admitted that though on course, they are facing challenges in meeting the Goals, especially with the presence of Covid-19.
Research findings per the Social Progress Index have revealed that, at the current pace of events, we are 52 years late with regards to achievement of the SDGs ( this means all the goals will be achieved in the year 2082). This is not a pleasant news anyway, as I believe it is a clear indication that not all hands are on deck, as they should.
Applause to the servant leaders, selfless presidents and global citizens, for the feats achieved so far. However, there’s much more to be done than that which have already been accomplished. We said we are leaving no one behind.
My dear friend, brother, sister and mentee, there is a lot you can do to contribute to these worthwhile goals.
